PEIA Healthy Tomorrows Initiative

PEIA’s  Healthy Tomorrows Initiative is a three-year plan to encourage active employees and non-Medicare retirees in the PEIA PPB Plans (A, B, C, and D) to name and develop a relationship with a primary care provider (PCP), to know their numbers, and to get certain biometric numbers within the acceptable range. The Healthy Tomorrows Initiative does NOT apply to members of  The Health Plan. The Healthy Tomorrows requirements only apply to the policyholder, not to any enrolled dependents.

Information for Plan Year 2018 (begins July 1, 2017)

PEIA is currently requiring policyholders to complete  Year Three of the initiative by MAY 31, 2017. If a policyholder does not comply for Plan Year 2018 they will incur an additional $500  medical deductible.

Information for Plan Year 2019 (begins July 1, 2018)

Healthy Tomorrows Phase 3 will continue for Plan Year 2019.  Between April 2, 2017 and May 15, 2018, policyholders (not spouses or dependent children) must have your blood pressure, blood glucose, and cholesterol tested and report the results, which must be within an acceptable range or you must have a physician's certification that those numbers cannot be met.  The Plan Year 2019 Healthy Tomorrows reporting form is printed in the back of the  Shopper's Guide. For Plan Year 2019, if a policyholder does not comply with the initiative, they will face increased monthly premiums.
